What is TruGraf Kidney?
TruGraf is a gene expression profile test that helps your care team get the earliest and most accurate view of the health of your transplanted kidney without the pain of a biopsy. This test can let your doctor know whether your kidney is healthy and well, or if it is at risk for rejection.
How does TruGraf Kidney Work?
Your body uses a system called gene expression to control a variety of functions within your body, including your immune system. A gene expression profile is a specific examination of this process, targeted at a particular immune response. TruGraf examines the communication occurring between your immune system and transplanted kidney to provide an early warning sign of rejection before symptoms arise. TruGraf is a rule out test, its power comes from being able to tell your care team what isn’t happening inside your body. It confirms that your anti-rejection medication is doing its job and keeping your immune system away from attacking your transplanted kidney.
How Can TruGraf Benefit You?
- With one blood draw, TruGraf Kidney provides the earliest and most accurate view on
the health of your kidney - Results are returned to your doctor within 4 days, so you’ll know right away how your
kidney is doing - TruGraf empowers your doctor to provide you with the best possible long-term outcomes
for your kidney - TruGraf provides you with reassurance, the knowledge that you kidney is healthy, or
possibly at risk of rejection

What is Eurofins TRAC?
Eurofins TRAC is a blood test that examines donor-derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA). It is an indication of how much damage has occurred to your transplanted kidney. This test can let your doctor know whether your kidney is healthy and well, or if it is under attack.
How does Eurofins TRAC Work?
Every DNA is unique to each person. When you receive a kidney transplant, your donor’s DNA is still present within that organ. Now, all cells shed DNA into the circulatory system, the blood stream, as part of healthy cell function. However, when your immune system starts to attack the cells in your transplanted kidney, the amount of cell-free DNA released increases outside of normal levels. The cell-free DNA from your kidney can be differentiated from your cell free DNA thanks to sequencing technology. The ratio of donor-derived cell-free DNA over cell-free DNA derived from you can be quantified as a measure of damage in your transplanted kidney. Donor-derived cell-free DNA tests are performed to see if the level is above a normal level, indicating damage has occurred to your transplanted kidney.
